1. Situation

Worked closely with a client and their contractors to develop an aligned way to lead safety in their organisations and then effectively cascade the same leadership approach through the line. The work spanned a number of different organisations and locations over a three-year period. 

The programme delivered the following outcomes: 

  • Established a consistent approach to safety leadership across the organizations who work together. 
  • Relieved the pressure on the executives to be providing the desired safety leadership in all locations at all times.
  • Created engaged and enabled leadership in the line to the front line encouraging increased awareness and community driven solutions for safety and wellbeing. 
  • Ensured values of respect and active care were more consistently experienced by the workforce in being treated fairly, feeling cared for and safe to speak up.

Consistent, scalable process that can be rapidly cascaded with regular communication and accurate messaging through the line and integrated into the daily work. 

Cascade of the organisation’s safety vision and values throughout the organisation by those who know best how to translate the spirit of the vision into pragmatic actionable contributions by different levels.

 Significantly improved client-contractor relations in using a consistent approach and an aligned standard for safety. 

Enabling the power of ‘naturally nested teams’ to take on a shared commitment to safety and keeping each other safe with the explicit support and shared understanding of all line managers.
