1. Situation

Members from the client, project management team and joint venture recognized that they needed everyone’s support to deliver project success. They proactively committed to identify and be at work on the ‘human factor’ key opportunities and challenges in order to deliver the best ever rail project in Qatar. 

This foresight set the team up to: 

  • Be proactively ready as the project expanded significantly in size and complexity.
  •  Ensure very good planning and preparation not only of what must get done, but also on how it gets done together. 
  • Establish, build on and strengthen existing alignment between client, project management team and joint venture ahead of MEP and the contractors coming on board. 
  • Effectively integrate all newcomers (both organization and individuals) into an already existing high performance team approach and high team-spirit work environment.

Removed barriers to productivity by facilitating targeted interventions as needed to engage individuals from the project management team through to the frontline workers in removing barriers to productivity. 

Created the conditions for breakthroughs in project execution and cost by supporting project team produce project efficiencies by rigorously working the issues and problems that inevitably arise on complex projects to ensure success of the project and its people.
